Harbin Ice and Snow World prepares for winter opening

On Tuesday, ice blocks that have been preserved for over 10 months began to be transported to the Harbin Ice and Snow World construction site in Harbin, Heilongjiang province. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

After being preserved for over 10 months, ice blocks began to be transported on Tuesday to the construction of the Harbin Ice and Snow World, one of the most popular scenic spots in Harbin, Heilongjiang province.

An incredible 200,000 cubic meters of ice blocks were selected and stored in January, the city's coldest month, which may help the park open for tourists earlier this winter season.
