Updated: 2014-01-15

Appealing tourism attractions such as a tablet bestowed by an emperor, an ancient bed worth 6 million yuan ($1 million), and intangible heritage crafts on the verge of extinction will all be opened to tourists soon.

Recently, an activity entitled Beautiful Winter in Anhui held by the Anhui Tourism Bureau took place in many cities, including Chuzhou, Maanshan, Wuhu and Xuancheng.

The Caishiji scenic spot located in Maanshan city is famous for Li Bai, a great poet in the Tang Dynasty (AD 618-907). The Maanshan tourist bureau has been forging an ancient town named Caishi. Caishi ancient town will mainly feature Huizhou-style architectures. Restaurants and hotels will also be established in the town.

Visitors can also head for Dehua Hall, China’s biggest private-funded museum themed around ancient beds. Mrs Yang, vice-president of the museum, explained that Dehua Hall has collected more than 300 ancient beds. The most expensive one is worth 6 million yuan. Dehua Hall officially opened on October 28, 2010. Its first exhibition phase covered an area of over 5,000 square meters.

Tourists can enjoy the experience pavilion of ancient beds on the third floor. In March of this year, tourists can view various ancient beds from the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties and check in at bed-culture themed hotels.

For tourists, the Old Tippler’s Pavilion in the Langya Mountain scenic spot cannot be missed. According to Ni Guoliang, director of the marketing department of the Chuzhou tourist bureau, Langya Mountain is undergoing comprehensive transformation to become a 5A scenic spot. Its total investment is 200 million yuan.

About 5 miles away from Langya Mountain, two museums built by Fujian merchants will open to tourists. One is a furniture museum and another is a tablet museum. The furniture museum, featuring materials like golden nanmu, is the only and biggest of its kind in China. It displays 1,000 works, the most expensive of which is worth 200 million yuan. The tablet museum has collected over 400 tablets of different names from the Tang Dynasty.

The Intangible Cultural Heritage Park, the third phase project of Wuhu Fantawild theme park, is still under construction. Xiewei, vice-director of the marketing center of Wuhu Fantawild Ltd, has revealed that the project will cost more than 1 billion yuan. Entertainment projects are focused on experience and interaction. Tourists can appreciate the intangible heritage crafts from all over the country.

Not far from the Intangible Cultural Heritage Park is Fanta Water World, another huge focus for the company. It is the biggest water park in East China, covering a total area of 100,000 square meters. The total investment of the park is 1 billion yuan. Xiewei revealed that the park will combine performance projects with experience projects. The park will start to charge for admission separately in June, and tickets will cost 200 yuan per person.
